A PENSIONER died after falling from a step ladder, a Hereford inquest heard.
Peter Oswald Prosser, aged 83, was trying to mend the kitchen wall clock when he fell and hit his head at home in Salisbury Avenue, Hereford, on January 8 this year.
An inquest in Hereford heard his wife Jessie Prosser was “gone five minutes” when she heard a bang and found him lying on the floor.
Her statement said he was “agitated”
about fixing it but she told him to wait for her to hold the ladder while he climbed it.
Mr Prosser was taken to Hereford County Hospital after Mrs Prosser put him to bed but he fell while visiting the toilet.
Coroner David Halpern said Mr Prosser, who died on February 23, suffered haemorrhaging related to his fall from the step ladder.
He recorded a verdict of accidental death.
