ALMOST 200 school children gathered in Leominster last week to celebrate the town’s African links.
Schools from across north Herefordshire joined six guests from Tengeru to mark the 20th anniversary of a link with the Tanzanian town at Leominster Junior School last Thursday.
Pupils from Leominster Junior, Leominster Infant, Kimbolton Primary, Kingsland Primary, Luston Primary, Orleton Primary, Shobdon Primary, Stoke Prior and the Minster College performed traditional English songs and dances before joining together for a rendition of God Save the Queen.
Leominster-Tengeru Link committee members and a number of invited guests also attended the celebration morning.
The event was been organised by Kingsland headteacher Angela Daniel and Kimbolton headteacher Sarah Tudor, who have both been to Tengeru as part of the link.
