HAIR is said to be our crowning glory but sadly, for many people this is not true.

Alopecia, baldness, female hair thinning, sudden hair loss, itchy flaky scalp , eczema and psoriasis, dermatitis, dandruff and breakage are just some of the common conditions that defy the rule.

Fortunately there are specialists, qualified trichologists, who can read into these conditions and help to resolve many of them.

Among them is Sally- Ann Tarver, who has clients based in Herefordshire and is director of the Cotswold Trichology Centre based in Evesham.

Miss Tarver, who is 33, has just been elected as president of the national Trichological Society, of which she has been a member since 2000.

She is the youngest member to hold the office and she said it was an honour to represent all the members based across the UK who worked hard in the in the industry of orthodox hair sciences.

Miss Tarver said that during her presidency, she would strive to raise the society’s profile and promote trichology as an academic course and career prospect.

“Trichology is a vital profession which is unique and I am confident I will be able to increase awareness at a national level,” she said.
