A HAY-on-Wye festival has seen a substantial increase in visitors.
Organisers of the Hay Food Festival estimate than 5,000 guests visited Saturday's event - representing major growth on the year before.
This was an increase of 1,500 from last year but despite the growth in numbers the festival still managed to maintain its green credentials.
Andrew Powell, one of the organisers, said: "It was great to see the whole town buzzing on Saturday.
"We tried hard to be sustainable at this year’s festival and we only collected four bags of rubbish at the end of the day which for the amount of people attending is exceptional.
"The sheer quality of the produce displayed on the market ensures that Hay Food Festival just goes from strength to strength."
The festival was launched in 2001 when it attracted 1,500 visitors.
