AN investigation is underway after a fatality last night near Hereford railway station.
A 21-year-old Hereford man died in hospital after falling off Commercial Road railway bridge.
The incident took place around 2am, and the victim’s family have been informed.
Pete Butcher, police press officer, said the Coroner had been informed, and an investigation had begun.
“We were investigating the facts surrounding the sudden and tragic death of a 21-year-old male from Hereford,” he said.
“He sustained injuries which later proved to be fatal after falling onto the tracks beneath the railway bridge on the A465 at Aylestone Hill.”
All three emergency services attended the incident, while the fire service erected “scene lighting” to help with the investigation.
Train services from Hereford railway station have not been disrupted.
