FIRST a new flood alleviation scheme, now Ross-on-Wye is being promised a continuing supply of top quality drinking water.
A £2.25 million water mains refurbishment scheme by Welsh Water will ensure a reliable supply straight to the taps of customers in the town centre.
As a result of the work, a road closure will be in place between Station Street and Brookend Street between next Monday and Friday.
Motorists will be diverted along the A40, while access to the closed roads will be allowed for deliveries, residents and the emergency services.
Morrisons supermarket will remain open, although access via Millpond Street will be stopped.
Welsh Water capital manager Peter Childs said: “This is essential work to further improve the water supply network in the area. We would like to thank people in advance for their patience.”
The scheme will be delivered by Laing O’Rourke, United Utilities, ChandlerKBS and other partners who will carry out the programme on behalf of Welsh Water.
