After a really lazy 'summer' (I use that word very loosely!) and finding difficulty to get much time to myself between working and my son being on school holidays, I am getting back into the gym and trying to get re-motivated.
I started by doing a couple of sessions by myself in the gym and trying to just get myself back into the routine of actually going during the day. I found my workout more difficult than it had been when I was doing it regularly, but not actually as difficult as I'd imagined. So that was a real bonus and gave me a bit of a boost! However, I did pay for it in the following days, as I really ached from it - I think I might have pushed it a little bit too hard. I also returned to my usual dance classes which added to my pain!
I found out about a new class which is being held on a Friday (at 5:30pm) by a new instructor to Halo which I thought would suit me down to the ground, so I decided to give it a try. It's a 'Dance for Fitness' class, taught by a professional dance teacher (Kim Owen) and it was great! It was a mixture of toning exercises, jumping, leaping, turning and finished off with a really good, fun Latino style routine to learn. I have always done that sort of thing and have always really enjoyed it and this was no exception. In the class there was a mixture of experienced dancers, some who had done it a bit before and absolute beginners, but the class was pitched to all levels. I got a really good workout from this and I found it a brilliant and fun way to work out - I will be definitely be attending this one again and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Anyway, I'm now feeliong motivated and can't wait until my days off on Thursday and Friday to get back in the gym for some more!....Let's just hope that feeling lasts...
