LUCTONIANS are gunning for glory this season, with a tough 48-hour Army training session to kick start the season.
Twenty team members thought they were tackling a routine fitness session, but that became a two-day military-style survival exercise at the Army’s Nesscliffe training area.
The Lucs commitment caught the Army’s attention with exercise supervisors saluting the team’s “mental toughness and discipline”.
Lucs coach Viv Wooley said the squad thought the two days had been the best test of endurance, fitness, and communication they’d had.
