PRISONERS held in custody at a county police station will now be able to seek advice from a higher power.
Bibles have been donated to the custody suite at Leominster Police Station, which handles prisoners from across the county, by the Hereford branch of Gideons.
The presentation was made to Sgt Neil Whitchurch by branch members Arthur and Barbara Isaac.
“People coming into custody have a variety of needs, not least to face up to the responsibility of what they might have done,” said Chief Supt Mark Turner, Divisional Commander for Herefordshire.
“The provision of Bibles for those who choose to find comfort, guidance and wisdom from them is just part of meeting some individuals’ needs and I am grateful for the Gideons donating them to us.”
