TWO contrasting styles of dance will be taking to the stage of The Courtyard as the sensational Don Cossacks State Dance Company brings its dynamic and breathtaking production of acrobatic Cossack dance to the venue tomorrow (Friday), and The European Ballet performs Sleeping Beauty next Saturday, October 4.

Don Cossacks State Dance Company is widely acknowledged as Russia’s premier Cossack dance troupe, a world-class company of 40 dancers, musicians and singers.

The Sleeping Beauty, with its colourful sets, lavish costumes and magnificent score by Tchaikovsky is a ballet for all ages – classic and enchanting.

Comprising two pieces of elegant and entertaining choreography, created for the company’s 25th anniversary Diversions will be at The Courtyard on Thursday, October 2.

The performance features Prelude & Strange Attractors Part II, captivating dance from American Stephen Petronio, while bold Belgian choreographer Stijn Celis has created a new spellbinding entertainment for Diversions.

“I am delighted to be presenting fabulous work by two of the hottest choreographers in the business,” says artistic director Ann Sholem.
