UISCEDWR is known as one of Britain’s most exciting contemporary folk bands.
Featuring fiddle, guitar, vocals, accordion and percussion, Uiscedwr offer a fresh and original approach to folk, bringing energy and virtuosity to their performances.
This year brought a new member to Uiscedwr when James Hickman joined the band as guitarist in January and has performed with great success with Anna Esslemont and Cormac Byrne, much to the delight of their varied audiences. His relaxed presence, unmistakable charm and musical talents make him an interesting addition to the band.
This year they’ve also been joined by accordion virtuoso Karen Tweed, a familiar face from several other bands including The Poozies.
With plans to release a new Uiscedwr album and a Big Band EP in the next 12 months, it’s a busy time for this dynamic quartet, and they’re playing at Nightjar Folk Club in The Courtyard, Hereford on Thursday, October 2, at 8pm.
