A NORTH Herefordshire flower festival has raised around £6,000 for a village church.
The St Michael and All Angels Flower Festival took place last weekend and attracted more than 1,500 visitors to Bodenham.
A ‘songs from the shows’ concert and magic from Mark Townsend entertained the crowds on the Saturday night, with a wine tasting session taking place the night before.
The Dean of Hereford, the Very Rev Michael Tavinor, joined worshippers to preach at a harvest supper on the Sunday evening.
Villager Jim Crane said the weekend went “extremely well” and brought about a sense of community in Bodenham.
He said the money will go towards maintaining the church and paying the parish share.
SOCIAL SEQUENCE DANCE – There will be a social sequence dance at the Parish Hall from 8pm on Saturday. Proceeds in aid of the Charles Renton Appeal. Further details on 01432 880373 or 01432 880970.
