CEILIDH – Dilwyn ceilidh will be held on Saturday in the Cedar Hall starting at 7pm. A sausage-and-mash supper will be followed by dancing to Village Folk, with a caller for the dances. Dessert will be served in the interval and there will be a licensed bar. All proceeds will go towards maintaining the Cedar Hall. HARVEST FESTIVAL – St Mary’s Church Harvest Festival tomorrow (Friday) will be conducted by the Rev Christine Mundell at 7pm. The hymns will be well known and everyone will be able to have a good sing! At the end of the service, refreshments will be served.
Dorstone DANCE CLASS – Want to get moving? Dance class is the answer! Classes have started at 7pm in Dorstone Village Hall. For more information, contact Mely on 01981 500470.
Eardisland TURKEY & TINSEL – This will be held on Saturday at The White Swan with a four-course meal being served at £15 each. There will be live music so come along and book your place. Limited spaces, call Gaynor on 01544 388577.
HARVEST FESTIVAL – There will be a Harvest Songs of Praise on Friday, October 3, at 6.30pm in the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Eardisland, followed by a supper in the village hall. Tickets for the meal are £4 per head (under 14 years, £2) and are available from Gill Richards on 01544 388323 or Dian Cope on 01544 388317.
CHURCH APPEAL – The pudding evening due to be held tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm will be in aid of the church appeal. There will be a variety of puddings to taste at £5 per head. Bring your own wine. Tickets from Serena Askew on 01544 388637 or the tea rooms.
OPEN DAY – There will be an opportunity to visit the Eardisland Bowling Club on Sunday which will be the last day of the bowling season. Members will be available to talk to visitors and encourage people to try out the game. Everyone welcome from 2pm. Contact Pat Roche for further information on 01544 388492.
