STOP PRESS – Celebrity to visit Preston – Terry Walton, Radio 2’s official allotment keeper. Even if you are not keen on gardening this should tickle your rafters. Terry Walton is coming to Preston for an evening of ‘edible entertainment’ which will definitely not be Gardeners’ Question Time. Star of the BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine Show, Terry has made a name for himself with dispatches from his vegetable patch in the Rhondda Valley and he will be joined by Wiggly Wigglers worm and wildlife expert Richard Fishbourne. They make a monthly podcast together.
All profits will go to St Michael’s Hospice and the Bobath Centre (for children with cerebral palsy). The event is being held at the village hall, Preston on Wye, on Friday, October 10, from 7.30pm to 10pm. Tickets are £10 and include a light supper and a glass of mulled cider. There will also be a prize draw with some lovely goodies to take home, book signing and a bar will be available. To buy tickets, call 01981 500391.
