A HEREFORD firm wants its own helipad to land big deals.
Flying top clients in shows the city means business, according to Central Roofing, which has put in a planning application for the helipad.
If it gets the go-ahead, the company will let other county firms use it too, along with the arrival and departure lounge already on its Holmer Road site.
Graham Neal, head of corporate development at Central Roofing, said the helipad would show Hereford was a serious business city and not a backwater.
“Flights will probably take place once every two months or so, but if we have an important client it gives us the chance to bring them into the county,” he said.
If the idea takes off, other companies can use the helipad to land clients if they have a “specific business requirement”.
When not in use, the helipad would serve as a works car park. The application should be heard by planners in November.
