TWO Herefordshire students impressed the judges at Ludlow Food Festival.

Callan Kendal and Vicky Franzen, who are studying hospitality and catering at Herefordshire College of Technology took the second and third prize respectively in the young chef competition.

Callan impressed with his dessert of rosemary scented pannacotta and lemon mousse with wild berry soup.

And Vicky wowed the judges with her dish of smoked duck breast.

Over the three day event the college's staff and students provided catering and hospitality for more than 500 Friends of the Ludlow Festival and some 275 stewards.

Tutor Les Brown said: “The event was a huge success. Some of the students who took part have only been with us for just over a week and have performed extremely well under what was very busy conditions.”
