MORE than £1,000 was raised at a folk dance to raise money for charity.

The ceilidh dance, held at New Radnor, was in aid of the Huntington’s Disease Association (HDA) and was organised by a Kington family who have experience of the disease at first hand.

Ray Jones, aged 69, was diagnosed with Huntington’s last year. His family have been told that they would have to travel out of the county to receive respite care for Mr Jones and Herefordshire Council would only fund the travel costs if the patient was at the advanced stage of the condition.

Mr Jones’ daughter Mell Lloyd would like to thank everyone who donated raffle prizes and money to HDA, including the New Radnor Band and David Rogers.
