HEREFORD’S Cathedral Green has today played host to a county brass band and their Swiss counterparts.
Tarrington Brass and the Rodersdorf Band, led by Herefordshire-born musical director Andrew Hammersley, played together for the fourth time this afternoon.
Andrew, son of the retired Tarrington vicar Peter Hammersley, met David Coleman of Tarrington Brass seven years ago and the pair decided to get their bands together.
The Swiss musicians landed in England yesterday and have already enjoyed a trip to Weston’s Cider.
They will be at the Lady Emily Hall in Tarrington tonight at 7.30pm and are playing at the Eastnor Castle Steam Fair tomorrow.
