PARENTS in Leominster are being asked to help police jump the “final hurdle” in their fight against anti-social behaviour.

PC Paul O’Reilly, of the Leominster North policing team, has been at the centre of a crackdown on disorder in the town but says a minority of youths “still see fit to ruin it for the rest”.

Although police have seen a reduction in anti-social behaviour, recent incidents have included vandalism of a phone box, throwing eggs, potatoes and apples at properties and damage to vehicles.

“We are now at what I see as the final hurdle,” said PC O’Reilly.

“Leominster is a great town with lots of character and we’ve done a lot to make it better and reduce anti-social behaviour.

“Now we just need everyone’s help to iron out the last few problems so that it’s great for everyone.”

“To the parents of those still causing a few issues, please work with us to educate your children.

“Just ask yourself if you know what your children are doing at this moment.

If the answer is no, then perhaps you should be doing something about it.”
