ORGANISERS of Kington Show are still getting over the disappointment of the cancellation of this year’s event – but are hopeful that next year will bring a return to form.
The bad weather meant that the show was a complete wash-out, causing it to be called off for only the third time in its 128-year history.
“Everyone was devastated and didn’t know what to do,” said show secretary Clare Edwards “The treasurer is still counting the financial damage, but three-quarters of traders have kept their bookings for next year and exhibitors have kindly made donations.”
The show was due to have featured a regimental band, a sheep shearing competition and an after-show dance.
Next year’s show is due to take place on Saturday, September 12.
