IT was a case of one for sorrow when this magpie got stuck in a tree last week. But the bird, under the watchful eye of Hereford vets, made a swift recovery and was released at the weekend.
The magpie had injured a wing when it became tangled in fishing line in a tree near the River Wye in Hereford last Tuesday. It was rescued by firefighters and RSPCA officers and taken to Belmont Veterinary Surgery, where it was treated and eventually released last Sunday.
