Herefordshire Council’s Museum Resource and Learning Centre in Friar Street is hosting a family fun day on Tuesday, April 7, featuring Chinese-themed activities ranging from martial arts to break dancing. All day, from 11am to 3pm, there will be workshops to paint Chinese-style pottery with Manic Ceramics. From 11am until 12.30pm, youngsters aged eight and over will be able to move like Jackie Chan with 2Faced dance company. Booking is essential. People are also welcome to just turn up on the day and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum stores and see the displays of Chinese costume and ceramics in the learning room. Easter egg trails take place at the National Trust's Berrington Hall and the Brockhampton Estate over the Easter weekend. Supported by Cadburys, there is a chocolate treat on offer to everyone who takes part. At Brockhampton (01885 488099/482077) the trail runs on Sunday and Monday, April 12-13, from noon to 4pm. At Berrington Hall (01568 615721), you can join the trail between 11am and 4pm.
Visit Eastnor Castle and take part in the ‘Eggs Factor’, a fun treasure hunt around the castle and grounds for all the family. Search for the elusive Eastnor Easter Bunnies and chickens who have escaped and dressed up as their favourite pop stars. The event runs from Friday, April 10, to Monday, April 13, hosted by Wizard Wonky.
Hampton Court, Herefordshire, celebrates the centenary of a certain famous English naturalist, in its own, original way. The Professor and his companions, including his elusive Beagle, are searching the beautiful Hampton Court Gardens for the missing parts of his Extraordinary Easter Egg Evolution Theory – and they need some assistance! Find exquisite felted birds, a mechanical dragonfly, a jumping hare and more, all made by Herefordshire artists, and try out the Professor’s own creation, the Random Egg Origins Machine. Other attractions in the spectacular Castle Grounds include live music, storytelling and circus skills. Hampton Court's Easter Fair runs from Saturday, April 11 to Monday, April 13.
