KIND hearted people in south Herefordshire showed that there are still Good Samaritans about when they assisted in an accident.
A car collided with the central reservation of the dual carriageway of the A40 at Ross-on-Wye to Whitchurch road just before 4pm on Friday.
An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene.
“The driver, a 36-year-old local woman, was complaining of back pain but her three children, two girls aged one and five and a boy of four, had been strapped into car seats and were unhurt, said ambulance spokesman Murray McGregor.
“Although mum needed to go to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment, a number of her neighbours came to the crash scene and took the children back to their home.
“The crews at the scene remarked that it is warming, in this day and age, that so many people were prepared to do so much to help others in their hour of need.
"It very much restores faith in our society.”
