A GOOD Friday performance of John Stainer’s The Crucifixion - A meditation on the passion of Christ for choir and congregation is something of a family affair, with Holy Trinity Church’s Stewart Taylor conducting, his son Nicholas singing baritone and his son-in-law’s brother William Unwin singing tenor. Playing the organ is the event’s one non-family member, Dr Roy Massey MBE, making a welcome return.
Nicholas Taylor and William Unwin were choristers together at Salisbury Cathedral, and William, who sings with The Sixteen, was the Hereford Choral Society soloist in the Messiah a few years ago.
The Crucifixion, also featuring the choir of Holy Trinity, is at Holy Trinity Church on Good Friday, April 10 at 7pm.
