A FINAL decision on controversial wind farm plans near Knighton could be months away because planning officers must first painstakingly finalise conditions surrounding the multimillion pound application.
Herefordshire Council staff will update councillors regularly as discussions continue over how much money should go to the community surrounding the four-turbine development at Reeves Hill, and over noise levels.
The council received the goahead from secretary of state Hazel Blears last month after she previously called in the proposals to decide whether or not they should be dealt with centrally instead.
Head of planning services, Andrew Ashcroft, told planning committee members last Friday that talks over issues such as access to the site would now continue with other parties involved, including Powys County Council Shropshire County Council and the applicant.
Plans to build the 105-metre windmills attracted criticism when protesters, including TV star John Challis, attended an initial planning meeting at Hereford’s Shire Hall in February.
