THANK YOU – The Radnorshire Arms recently held a quiz and would like to thank everyone who supported the event, especially quiz master Colin Herring. £47.50 was raised for the Gurkha charity. The spring draw also took place with first prize going to Paul Darsley, Colin Herring was second and Mick Nult third.
COFFEE MORNING – There is a coffee morning on Saturday at the Methodist Church at 10.30am. Everyone welcome.
BINGO – The bowling club annual Easter bingo is at the Memorial Hall on Saturday, eyes down at 7.45pm. The usual generous prizes will be up for grabs. Everyone welcome.

EXHIBITION – There is a prints exhibition by the talented Hannah Streat at The Hat Shop in the High Street every day during April. The Hat Shop is open daily Monday to Saturday from noon to 2pm and 6pm to 9pm.
WORKSHOP – There is a Bird Workshop, Nature and the Needle, on Monday, April 27, in Lingen Village Hall from 10am to 4pm. It is suitable for anyone who loves birds, from the complete beginner to the more experienced. The cost is £15 which will include drinks but please bring your own lunch. Booking is essential. TOWN COUNCIL – Presteigne and Norton Town Council meets at the Shire Hall next Wednesday, April 15, at 7.30pm. Members of the public are welcome.
GARDENS OPEN – Knill gardens are open to the public on Easter Monday from 2pm to 6pm. Admission is £3 for adults, with children free. All proceeds will go to charity.
BINGO – The cricket club is holding Easter bingo at the Royal British Legion Club on Easter Monday starting at 8pm. The last quickie will be for £50. All proceeds for club funds.
100 CLUB – The football club recently held the March 100 club draw. Mr and Mrs Idris Gwilt drew the following winners. £100 Julie and Gemma Lewis, £50 Kaye Hughes, £40 Phil and Deb Jones, £30 James Gilbert and £25 Roy Deakins. The committee would like to thank everyone for their continued support. The next draw is at the Bull on Friday, April 24, from 9pm.

EASTER EGG HUNT – There is a kids’ Easter egg hunt at the Radnorshire Arms on Saturday at 11am and a barbecue, weather permitting. The cost is 75p per child with prizes for the winning age groups. For more details call Deb on 267406.
MUSIC – The band Floyd Earl are playing this Sunday at the Royal Oak from 8pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
ST ANDREW’S CHURCH – The Tregwynt Chamber Orchestra, choir and soloists are playing at St Andrew’s Church on Saturday from 7.30pm. The director is David Pontsford, with Rogers Covey-Crump. Tickets are £16 from Presteigne Post Office or by calling 350559.
CREATIVE WRITING – Tutor Lara Clough, in association with the University of Aberystwyth Lifelong Learning, is running two 10-week courses, starting Wednesday, April 29, from 7pm to 9pm in the Assembly Rooms, Presteigne. Starting on April 30 will be Vive la Difference – Understanding Genre, an introduction to the various fictional genres including detective, horror, sci-fi, comedy and romance. Beginners and those with some experience welcome.
