Zinco UK Limited, based in Hereford, has just been awarded a framework contract for a major German galvanizing group.
Zinco UK provides advanced technical services to the hot dip galvanizing industry, including the specialist non invasive ultrasound measuring of hot dip galvanizing kettles.
Voigt & Schweitzer, which has headquarters in Gelsenkirchen, has 28 hot dip galvanizing plants spread across the country and Zinco UK will provide regular services to all plants, with at least 16 planned for testing during 2009.
David Watkins, managing director, said: “We are delighted that VSMH has the confidence in our technology and service to award Zinco UK this contract.
“Voigt & Schweitzer will experience considerable cost savings compared to alternative measuring methods.”
He added: “In the same week, we have also been awarded a contract for our zinc transfer services and holding vessels in the Netherlands.
“This project will start at the end of July 2009 and involves the complex movement of 420 tonnes of molten zinc for the customer as well as installation of a new zinc kettle”
