ECO-FRIENDLY residents living on the Welsh border are being urged not to use recycling banks at Knighton and Presteigne after they were put there without permission.
Textile banks bearing the name Grovenor Samaritans were due to be removed by the local authority as soon as possible after a private company dropped them off without consent.
Powys County Council spokesperson Lee Evans said: “These banks will reduce the income community groups receive to look after these sites. We will be taking enforcement action against these banks in the near future and would urge residents not to use them.”
