YOUNG FARMERS – The Big Breakfast held on Easter Saturday was very successful, keeping members extremely busy. Sausages supplied by Chris and Denise Donovan were very tasty, eggs supplied by Marj Havard gratefully received and marmalade made by Carol Williams finished the traditional English with a delicious flavour. A draw was held at the breakfast and £400 was raised towards club funds. Many thanks to everyone who came.
SPRING CLEAN WALK – Villagers met at Pateshall Hall to collect their high-visibility jackets, gloves, litter pickers and bin bags (supplied by Herefordshire Council) before splitting into two groups. One group collected litter from the Church Road side of Allensmore and the other group crossed the A465 to collect rubbish from around Cobhall Common. More than 10 bags were collected during the morning with a variety of finds, from teapots to saucepans and flip flops to televisions. On the return to the hall, a barbecue was fired up with sausages kindly donated by Chris and Denise Donovan, chicken from Mary Jane Lane and trout caught by Stephen Williams. Donations from refreshments amounted to £110 which will be given to St Michael’s Hospice.
