BLUEBELL WALK – Fownhope Walkers will be doing their bit for the environment when they catch the 9.29am bus from the village to Woolhope on Saturday. They will do a six-mile walk back to Fownhope by way of Sollers Hope’s bluebell woods and Capler Camp. Bring a drink and a packed lunch – the fare is £1.30 or free to those with a bus pass.
ON THE BUSES – The bus user group set up by the parish council has now completed a thorough survey of passenger numbers on local bus services. The results, with some proposals for changes, will be put to an open meeting of bus users in Fownhope Memorial Hall at 2pm on Monday. Suggestions put forward include an extra morning bus, a later evening bus and restoration of the Thursday morning bus to Ross. Fownhope deserves a better bus service but Herefordshire Council is currently talking about cuts to some local services, so local views are really important. Do come or give your views to Jean Boothman on 860488, David M Clark on 860017, Pam Colley on 860986 or Jane Straker on 860854.
