Monmouth Rotary Club is organising a sponsored walk between Chepstow and Monmouth on Sunday, May 17, to raise money for the breast cancer research charity, In The Pink.
In The Pink was formed eight years ago by a former breast cancer patient and her friends. To date, they have raised more than £600,000 for the breast cancer research team at Velindre, Cardiff, by running canal walks across South Wales.
The Rotary Club event will be based at the Monmouth Showground and four walks will be on offer, from 1.8 miles up to 13.5 miles. Buses will take walkers down the valley towards Chepstow to their chosen start point. They will then walk back to the Show Ground along the banks of the Wye. An award will be given to the walker judged to be wearing the best outfit. Further awards will be given to both the team and the individual raising most sponsorship money.
