A CUP final was called off when a thunder storm struck in Hereford last night.
The FW Peterson Cup between Hinton Reserves and Kingstone Reserves will now be played on Saturday following yesterday's freak weather.
Players from both sides had changed and warmed up at Westfields' allpay park stadium and were getting last minute instructions from managers when the rain came at 7pm.
Referee Jimmy Lambert kept the players in the changing room for their own safety and when the storm finally passed the pitch was covered in surface water.
Sainsbury's supermarket was also plunged into darkness during the 20-minute downpour.
And the Co-operative in Bobblestock was closed early after water entered the store.
