Card contest brightens up library membership.
LIBRARY membership in the county is looking more attractive than ever after Herefordshire Council launched a competition to find a new-look card.
Four new designs will appear on the front of county library cards after Hereford Times editor Liz Griffin helped to choose the winning entries from more than 60 created by adults and children alike through photography, drawing and other media.
Winners won vouchers for camera specialist Jessop, courtesy of myherefordshire.com, and a year’s supply of DVDs, CDs and talking books from local libraries.
Karen Friedman, from Hereford, Mathew Smith from Colwall, Shirley Hill, from Leominster, and Michael Blackwell, from Colwall, will get to see their ideas in use on library cards from this month.
