LIBERAL Democrat leader Nick Clegg swept into Herefordshire this morning during a whistle-stop tour of the West Country and the West Midlands.
The Sheffield MP visited the Royal National College for the Blind and also revealed a three-step plan regarding next week’s budget announcement to community and business leaders gathered at The Farmers’ Club in Hereford.
He was supported by the party’s South Herefordshire parliamentary candidate Sarah Carr and West Midlands MEP Liz Lynne ahead of Euro elections in June and a possible general election next year.
All three were also joined by Hereford Liberal Democrat MP Paul Keetch during meetings with the British blind football team and college staff before the party leader left for Cardiff at around 11.30am.
It marked the end of a hectic week for Mr Clegg, who has also been to Taunton, Cornwall and Bristol in the last few days.
“I’ve been to Herefordshire many times before, I really enjoyed the visit today and will be coming back many more times,” he said.
