The Herefordshire branch of the British Horse Society has arranged some interesting and varied events for this year throughout the county. The first of these is coming up at the end of this month.
You can meet senior BHS executives for a talk, followed by an opportunity for questions. Lee Hackett, welfare, and Sheila Hardy, safety, will be at the Larruperz Centre, Ross-on-Wye, on Thursday, April 30, 7pm for 7.30pm.
Entry is free to all, including non-BHS members and tea and coffee will be provided.
Them there is a chance to watch the action live at the world famous Badminton Horse Trials. A bus will leave Kimbolton at 8am on Saturday, May 9. The cost is £10 for transport plus £21 entrance fee. Further details from Alison Robbins on 01568 613828.
A quiz night in aid of BHS Welfare will be held at 7pm on Friday, May 15, at the Solway Arms, Woofferton (on the A49 at junction with the A456 Kidderminster road).
Teams of up to four people are allowed and entry is £10 per team. There will be general knowledge questions as well as some about horses, so bring your non-horsey partners/ friends.
Future happenings include a one-day event in August that will be a very laid-back affair and the ideal opportunity for all you “happy hackers” to have a go for the first time.
Finally, in October, a fun ride before the dark days of winter set in again.
