A 68-acre farm of undulating pasture and woodland near Usk made £850,000 under auction.
RG and RB Williams, auctioneers of Ross-on-Wye, who sold Pentwyn Farm, Little Mill said there was still a strong demand for agricultural properties.
The farm was sold in seven lots with the house, a pair of holiday cottages and nearly nine acres making £600,000.
Prices of the other lots from 2.52 acres to 21.95 acres made from £3,644 an acre to nearly £6,000 an acre.
In the north of the county, on the Herefordshire/ Powys border some farm land was sold at a top price of £12,875 an acre by McCartneys. It was part of a mixed area of land around New Radnor, Presteigne and Kington, sold in six lots by tender at an average of £8,275 an acre.
Spokesman Richard Gwilliam said: “There’s still strength in the market in the current economic climate and people still want to buy land.”
