KELLY Marks joined The British Horse Society at the 2009 BHS TREC Annual Award ceremony to present awards to the top 10 placings of the SEIB BHS TREC League and the Kelly Marks Winter Series.

The level 1 & 2 Individual award was presented to Marie Metcalf from York, while the level 1 & 2 Pairs was won jointly by Di Skippon (East Sussex) and Ali Large (West Sussex), and Jane Chivers (Gloucestershire) and her pairs partner Rachel Wilmot from Nottinghamshire.

The level 3 & 4 Individual winner was Maddy Jacob, from Herefordshire, and the level 3 & 4 Pairs title was taken back to Kent by Julia Izzard and Clare Reynolds.

The winners of each league were presented with a personalised SEIB BHS TREC jacket to commemorate the occasion.

The winners of the Kelly Marks League were Lucy Booth from Cornwall on Willoway Harrison who took the Open Championship, and Beccy MacDonald Haig from Drumnadrochit, Inverness, on Teja who finished top of the Newcomers.

The Brammer family put forward the J F Brammer Unsung Heroes Tankard in memory of John Fredrick Brammer for recognition of all unsung heroes and volunteers who help out at events all over the country and without whom TREC could not exist.

It is awarded to a volunteer judge or helper at a TREC competition whose contribution is exceptional or above the call of duty and carried out with grace.

For the BHS TREC 2008 season the award was presented to Dave Cromarty, who the Brammer family felt demonstrated great patience at the Welsh Championships.

Earlier in the day there had been a SEIB BHS TREC Forum with guest speaker Clive Meers Rainger who spoke about hind limb analysis, which proved to be very informative and popular with the audience.

The forum also discussed the new rule changes and obstacles that have been introduced in 2009.
