YOUNG farmers from Herefordshire have reached the finals of a national pantomime competition.
Golden Valley YFC were clear winners in the semifinals held at Cheltenham with their production Where There’s A Will....
They beat four other clubs to represent the south of England in the finals at the Opera House in Blackpool on May 3.
All those in the semifinals – from Shropshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire and Devon – put on very strong performances but the Herefordshire club impressed the judges most.
An added bonus was that Golden Valley’s Ben Lewis, who played the part of Mr Sinus in their production, was awarded the prize for best actor in the semi-finals.
In the finals, the Golden Valley club will be competing with Llandovery YFC from Carmarthenshire from the Wales Federation and Northumberland Federation, representing the North of England.
Tickets for the finals can be obtained from the YFC Centre at Stoneleigh Park.
