A HEREFORDSHIRE pensioner is to take the plunge from 10,000ft in a charity skydive.
Eileen Dilley, aged 72, from Sutton St Nicholas, has never skydived before, but said it held no fears for her.
“Everyone has been asking me if I’m worried about landing, but I’ve been told that it is controlled, so I’m not afraid at all – I’m really excited about it,” she said.
Mrs Dilley, who is a retired dress maker, will make the jump at Hinton Airfield in Northampton on July 12 and is raising money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
“I saw the Acorns building being built in Worcester and was so impressed with everything that I saw to help those very sick children who live in our area,” she said.
“I knew that a great deal of money would be needed to keep it running well into the future to help many more local families going through the unthinkable.”
