HEREFORD’S Kindle Centre has kept a promise to the community it serves and ploughed its past year’s profits into setting up a special fund.
The £8,000 the centre made on various events over 2008/2009 is now the basis for bids made by organisations and individuals alike – as long as they are in South Wye.
As the public face of the South Wye Development Trust, the centre will make quarterly payments of £2,000 over the coming year to causes that qualify for the cash.
Centre manager Lara Latcham said: “When we set up the Kindle Centre in 2007 we promised to invest any profits back into the local area. The fund will consider supporting any project which benefits people living and/or working in the South Wye area.”
