The sale of items from an attic has raised more than £900 for the Renton Macmillan Cancer Unit Appeal.
They came from the home of Carol Kirkpatrick of Bodenham who said she could not speak highly enough of the service she received at the County Hospital when she was a cancer patient there and wanted to give a little back.
So she raided her attic and, with the help of friends and neighbours, sold the items at Bodenham Village Hall.
Among the visitors were Allan and Angela Lloyd of Kington who successfully spearheaded a campaign for radiotherapy services also to be made available at the County Hospital.
Mr Lloyd said he was impressed by the continued spontaneous and generous support being given to the Macmillan Renton Appeal. Bodenham residents had already raised more than £3,000, he added.
