THE CRADLEY ANGELS FESTIVAL – The residents of Cradley are preparing for the coming of the angels! This unique exhibition, the inspiration of artist Celia Kilner from Holmfirth, Yorkshire, features 60 larger-than-life colour reproductions of angels as depicted across the ages, starting in 5th century Egypt and covering various religions (including Christianity, Judaism and Islam). The angels will be erected on Monday, May 4, in preparation for the opening celebration on Thursday, May 7, by the Bishop of Hereford, with a launch party for all those who have sponsored an angel and helped in setting up the exhibition.

The festival will end with a special closing service at 6pm on Sunday evening, July 19. The angels festival is aiming to raise funds for the refurbishment and adaptation of the church to increase and enhance its use by the wider community through a variety of events.

This spectacular exhibition will be open to the public and supported by a series of events including concerts, both classical and light-hearted, a hymnathon, an art lecture by John Travis, a youth talent contest, a variety of activities involving all the pupils from Cradley Primary School and more – all based on the theme of angels. Admission to the display is free of charge although donations will be invited from visitors.
