PARISH COUNCIL – A meeting of Dormington and Mordiford Parish Council took place on March 31. The need for affordable housing for local people was identified in the Parish Plan and all residents should have received a housing needs survey which will help the parish council progress this wish.
The clerk was asked to request from Herefordshire Council several traffic calming measures in Mordiford. These include painted build-outs on the road, an extension of the single white line opposite the school and extension of the double yellow lines away from the junction. Following a successful application for funding, the parish council has appointed a lengthsman who will start work shortly. A new contract, including extra cuts, has been secured for the mowing of the burial ground. Work on the Iron Room in Priors Frome is progressing but funding for electrical work is proving difficult. Mordiford annual parish meeting will be held in Mordiford School hall on April 29 at 8pm.
