A ROSS-on-Wye man was remanded in custody at Worcester Crown Court after pleading guilty to a charge of attempted robbery.

Mark Walker, aged 22, of River View, had a previous offence on his record for racially aggravated harassment.

His barrister Jonathan Stannisland said the defendant’s girlfriend was pregnant and he needed to be with her when he was released from another sentence on May 18.

But Judge John Cavell said he had pleaded guilty to a serious offence and refused bail. Walker is due to be sentenced in the week beginning June 1. The judge ordered a pre-sentence report.
