A HAY-ON-WYE landlady has been fined £1,000 after council inspectors found “mouldy and putrid” food in her kitchen.
Environmental Health staff from Powys County Council found 10 unsatisfactory items in the fridges at The Hollybush Inn and flies buzzing around when they re-visited the site last August to find a food safety management system had not been complied with.
Owner Barbara Lewthwaite, who runs the inn and campsite off the B4350, pleaded guilty at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates Court on Tuesday to four offences related to food hygiene and labelling regulations. She must also pay £250 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
