100 CLUB – The football club made the April 100 club draw in the clubhouse after the 1-0 win over Radnor Valley last Friday evening. Dot Griffiths drew the following winners: £100 Ade Underhill, £50 Adrian Lunt, £40 Mike Symonds, £30 Janet Graham and £25 Margaret Lloyd. ACKHILL BAPTIST CHURCH – There are several May Day services at Ackhill Baptist Church in Dolley Green this weekend. On Sunday, there is Sunday School at 10am, morning service at 11am and evening service at 6.30pm. Then on Monday, there are services at 3pm and 6pm. GARDENING CLUB – The next meeting of Lingen Gardening Club is on Tuesday, May 5, at 7.30pm in Lingen Village Hall. This month, Mike Harris will talk on Blanket Bogs. BYRONS ANGEL – There is an afternoon of poetry and music with healer and medium Heleneia Brierley at the Radnorshire Arms on Saturday from 3.30pm to 7pm. Admission is free but a donation will be taken in aid of Cancer Care and the Animal Welfare.
MUSIC – The Manchester Reed Trio will perform music by Gershwin, Mozart and others at St Michael’s Church in Lingen on Sunday at 3pm. CONCERT – Concordia will be playing a concert with guest musicians at Lingen Methodist Church on Saturday, May 9, at 7pm. There will be a retiring collection in aid of the chapel refurbishment fund and St Michael’s Hospice. Light refreshments will be served during the interval.
MARKET – The monthly market will take place on Saturday at the Memorial Hall from 9am. All the usual stalls will be there.
FUN DAY – The Chamber of Trade and Twinning Association is holding an annual fun day at Wentes Meadow on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. Activities include a pet dog show, football tournament, raffle, fire brigade display, may pole dancing, tug-of-war, children’s painting and bake a cake competitions, face painting, bouncy castle, car boot sale, refreshments, barbecue plus loads of side stalls and much more.
