A MAJOR review is taking place to try to find out what it’s like being a disabled person living in Herefordshire.
Health authorities in the county want to know so they can work together to develop a joint disability equality scheme to cover the next four years.
NHS Herefordshire, Herefordshire Council and Hereford Hospitals Trust are carrying out the consultation with the aim of bringing about lasting improvements to help disabled people in Herefordshire.
The three authorities want people to answer a range of questions on transport, accommodation, accessibility of public services, employment, discrimination and personal safety.
A questionnaire can be completed on-line at herefordshire.gov.uk/disability or picked up at information shops, libraries and GP surgeries around the county.
There will also be a public meeting to talk about the subject at Hedley Court at Belmont Abbey on May 11.
Help will be given for those needing transport but places must be reserved. Call 01432 260216 for information.
