Three people have been taken to hospital following a road accident in Herefordshire.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the the A49 in Wilton, near Ross-on–Wye, shortly before 2.35pm today.

Two ambulances and two rapid response vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

Suzie Fothergill, ambulance press officer, said: "On arrival at the scene, crews found two cars that had been in collision. Both vehicles had suffered substantial damage.

"The driver of the first vehicle, a 19-year-old man was treated on scene for head, leg and chest injuries.

"He was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before being conveyed to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment and treatment."

"Two other people from the second vehicle were also treated on scene.

"A man, believed to be in his 50’s and boy, believed to be 12, were treated for minor injuries. The boy was collared and boarded as a precaution before they were both conveyed to Hereford County Hospital."
