KINGTON FESTIVAL ASSOCIATION – The Kington Festival team is fundraising.

The owners of the Old Sargeants Shop, High Street, Kington, have kindly given us use of their shop from Tuesday, May 19, to Saturday, May 23. Open 9am to 4pm (except Wednesday, which is 9am to 1pm). We will be selling new, nearly new and antique small items of furniture, pictures, household items, toys, books, bric-a-brac, clothes. Do pop in to view our many items and hopefully buy, we’d love to see you and all proceeds raised will go towards Kington Festival activities. If you have any items you wish to donate, bring them to the shop on Monday, May 18, between 10am and 2pm or if you have any heavy items that require transporting, call Gill Rannie on 01544 340449 or Tina Davison on 01544 262762. Don’t forget the 2009 festival programme will be available in Kington shops by tomorrow (Friday) with full details of all the festival activities and events, so be sure to get your copy.

COMPETITION – The Marches spring group competition meeting was held in the village hall. The communal shield was won by Kingswood for the first time, second was Titley and third was Huntington (Kington). Classes were well supported and the standard was high. The county chairman presented the cups and certificates.
