SUN AWARENESS CAMPAIGN – As part of the National Sun Awareness Campaign, Elaine’s Beauty Spot in Knighton and Presteigne will be raising awareness and educating people about sun protection. They will also be able to discuss the alternatives available and what can be done for skin that is already damaged by the sun.
Every year more than 75,000 people are diagnosed with skin cancer in the UK and out of these. more than 2,000 die from the condition. Skin cancers are caused by damage from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays. Even with this in mind, too many people still go out of their way to get a natural tan or just don’t bother to protect themselves from this indiscriminate killer. Even if people are lucky enough to avoid a skin disease, the skin will still be aging at an extremely fast rate. For further information, contact 01544 260618 or 01547 520777.
